2013 blog review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,200 times in 2013. If it were a cable car, it would take about 20 trips to carry that many people.

Weekend round up – 1st July 2012 #DTM #NASCAR

Hopefully we might have got the duff weather out of the way here in the UK ready for the Grand Prix next weekend, but we don’t hold out too much hope. Hopefully the folks who went to the Festival of Speed at Goodwood didn’t get too wet. This weekend on a global stage the prime action was the #DTM from the Norisring and #NASCAR from Kentucky. Continue reading

Weekend round up – 4th June 2012 #NASCAR #IndyCar #DTM #F1

This weekend saw #NASCAR in action on the Monster Mile and the #Indycar boys and girls on the streets of Detroit. The #DTM were on another away race, this time in Austria at Spielberg and #F1 had a weekend off before their Canadian outing next weekend. They also lost another of their elder statesmen with the death of Roy Salvadori at 90. Continue reading

Weekend round up – 21st May 2012 #DTM #IndyCar#F1 #NASCAR

#F1 Interesting that Red Bull’s owner thinks that the start to the 2012 season with 5 different winners in as many races might put people off; the opposite was reckoned to be the case when Schumi was winning everything in sight and being accused of making the show boring. We’re very happy here that the results have been so varied and that we have such a competitive series (we’d be happier still if JB was waltzing off into the distance with 5 wins out of 5, but that’s just us). Continue reading

Weekend roundup – 6th May 2012 #NASCAR #DTM

This weekend saw plenty of tin top action with #NASCAR from Talladega, #DTM from Lausitz and the #WTCC crowd in Hungary. The Le Mans boys were at it at Spa and the Ardennes turned the rain on and off over the race as it so often does.

Over the course of the weekend we Tweeted various updates and results from these events and others, so check through our Tweet list for those. Meanwhile, here’s our weekend wrap up: Continue reading

Weekend round up – 29th April 2012 #IndyCar #DTM #NASCAR

On quite a good weekend for fans of tin top motor racing we saw the #BTCC boys in action at Thruxton and the #WTCC in Slovakia, plus the new look #DTM getting under way at Hockenheim as well as the usual #NASCAR fare from Ricmond. #IndyCar and #F2 also provided action for the single seater fans, so here we go with this week’s round up: Continue reading

Weekend round up – 23 October 2011 #DTM #NASCAR

#DTM Jamie Green close out the season with a win at and Miquel Molina follows up a good back end to the season with a second pole position and third place in the race. Looking forward to next year and the return of BMW.

#NASCAR Mark Martin still has it with a pole position, but problems related to that final caution dropped him back and robbed Jeff Gordon of a drafting partner. Problems for both Ugly Brothers cheered us up here as did the top three at the finish. Good to see Clint win one as his time at RCR runs out, great to see Jeff Burton a close second, and also great to see Dave Blaney pick up a good result.

Interesting stuff about the #48 car and that radio transmission. Oops!

Martinsville next weekend. Always a tight one. Where will Smoke end up? We don’t think that his season is anywhere near done yet.

#Marco – We don’t usually mention the blokes who race with only half the required number of wheels here, but sseveral of our favourite drivers of old started on bikes and we have a huge respect for those guys. So it was sad to hear that they had a tragic weekend and lost one of the promising younger riders. RIP Marco.
